Hey guys! I have something I really want to share with you, and I hope you will be willing to help out.. A close friend of my mom’s recently told her a story about this boy she met named Nic. Nic is a 19 year old boy who broke his neck in a bad snowboarding accident and was diagnosed as a quadriplegic by his doctors. He was told he was lucky to be alive.
My mom’s friend Tanya met him outside of Maple Leaf gardens, where he was begging for money. His service dog, Shadow, had a broken foot and needed immediate veterinary attention. Vet bills are expensive, and his mom had already exceeded her resources to pay for his physical therapy.
After talking for a bit, Tanya had offered to pay for Shadow’s vet bill, if Nic agreed to get off the streets. That’s when he explained his financial situation in terms of his therapy. The government only funded a limited therapy plan for two years, now he has no government support to keep healing. He’s made extraordinary progress, and he has shocked his doctors! But the therapy is expensive, and he can’t afford to keep doing it.
So Tanya wanted to do something to help Nic, and when I heard the story I wanted to get involved as much as I could.
To raise money for Nic, Tanya, despite her arthritis, and despite recovering from a broken elbow last year, is going to rollerblade 50km. She’s hoping to raise enough money for him to continue his therapy and continue to heal. She doesn’t have the means to get the attention she needs to do this though, so I offered to use my blog to try and help.
Believe me, I know that money is tight for a lot of people (I am one of those people), and I know that there are a lot of issues and causes that also want your funds and attention. Clicking reblog only takes a moment, and you would be massively helping a really really awesome boy!

This is a short documentary about Nic and about his life after the accident, and about all the progress he’s made!
Please reblog if you have a moment!
